On April 29th members/volunteers of the LI State Park PBA joined WBLI/WBAB’s for their semi-annual Touch-A-Truck event. Spectators and their children came out in full force, as they always do, to take part in this fun-filled event. The vehicles that are part of the show filled Field 6A at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow from 10 am – 3pm. Since the inception of this event, it has always appealed to and drawn the attention of big and little kids alike, making it a save the date for family fun. There is absolutely no cost for admission, but WBLI/WBAB do appreciate donations in the form of rolls of paper towels or toilet tissue to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of LI.

The PBA has participated in this event for several years now, it allows children (and adults) to get up close and personal with police vehicles and the members. Kids climb into the driver’s seat of the emergency vehicles and get to work the lights, the sirens and yes, even the PA system! There are also tons of other construction vehicles, emergency vehicles and military vehicles for the kids to see. It does get loud (believe us!) so ear plugs are recommended if you plan to stay there for a while.

It is definitely one of those scrap book photo-op events, and the kiddies love to collect the free stickers that the NYSPP give out!
