On November 20th, Red Knights MC NY Chapter 26 were joined by dozens of motorcyclists for their annual Teddy Bear Run. Hundreds of lovable teddy bears of all colors and sizes started rolling in to the lot of Terryville F.D. in Pt Jeff Station by 10am.
The determination of this event also raises monetary donations, which is used to purchase turkeys so those less fortunate can enjoy a festive Thanksgiving dinner. Every year, the Teddy Bear Run benefits the Kids of Brookhaven Town Interface Program, which is a partnership between “good corporate neighbors and the Town Of Brookhaven”, united in a common effort to provide help to Brookhaven residents who are in need of assistance. Through voluntarism and events like the Teddy Bear Run, this organization has been successful in their mission.
Santa chuckled Ho Ho Ho’s as he and his charming helper, Vickie, welcomed the riders and children to place the teddy bears aboard the mighty fire truck. By noon, kickstands went up and the pack of riders embarked on the Suffolk County Police & Town of Brookhaven Public Safety escorted journey to Painters Restaurant in Brookhaven for lunch.
