Sic Kustoms

Custom Paint and Pinstriping Designs

Story by Lee Sheridan

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words and it is obviously the case with this story. Anthony Locastro, owner of Sic Kustoms, grew up on Long Island. Anthony’s father was described to me by Anthony himself, as a Jack-of-all-trades, who made his living painting trucks for the Village of Valley Stream. His dad was also into muscle and hot rods, which influenced his son’s passion for these beloved machines. Anthony developed an appetite for painting in his early teens. He began his career in the art of painting by experimenting on motorcycle tanks, helmets, guitars, and street signs (before they were erected by the town). This self-taught artist dabbled in painting cars and pinstriping as a side business, and shot his first auto, his own 1940 Chevy panel truck, 3 years ago. On any given weekend, you can see Anthony, his ride, and samples of his work at local car and truck shows.

Anthony favors the realistic fire flame design and was determined to perfect this renowned chemical skin. His rendition of the fire flames became so appealing that his friends sought out this artist’s talent for their own vehicles. Today, the fire flame design has become Anthony’s signature trademark. Keep in mind that although he is well known for his realistic fire flames, Anthony is a true artist and his abilities for custom work knows no bounds.

Sic Kustoms has been in business for about 10 years now, and although Anthony’s cliental keeps him busy on a daily basis, he looks forward to working with new clients. Whether it is perfecting a vision of a paint job, or custom designing, the finished project never disappoints.
