Scarlett Fever East Car Show

Story & photos by Cowboy

The Road Lords Car Club holds this event every year on the west coast, as well as here on the east coast in an effort to assist one of their own. Bob & Rosa Young’s daughter, Scarlett, suffers from Rett Syndrome, a rare neurodevelopment disorder that only effects young girls due to a mutated gene on the X chromosome. Scarlett is in need of round the clock care and every cent from these events go directly to help cover the cost of that care. Events such as this give Scarlett, an extraordinary young lady, her very own days. Arriving at the Lindenhurst Moose Lodge were over 85 show cars, trucks, and head turning rat rods. Moose Lodge members were manning the grills and fryers, while serving up cold beverages to the crowd. With some incredible artwork on display for auction and numerous gifts baskets in the raffle, folks were buying up tickets and placing bids to help this wonderful cause.

A wide variety of musical talent took to the stage keeping the event rolling along, and folks tapping their feet. The Road Lords CC is a worldwide club with chapters in: California, Oregon, New York, Long Island, Jersey, New England, a Nomads Chapter, Race Team and even a chapter in Australia! I have come to know many of these members, I am grateful to be a part of this event and to be treated like family whenever we cross paths.

Bob & Rosa shared an awesome video of some of Scarlett’s adventures and their extended family gatherings with me. But more importantly, they shared their story with me, and for that I thank them. Much gratitude is extended to all who helped make this a very special day for Miss Scarlett, who is an inspiration to us all. Drive safe folks, and Rock on Scarlett!
