IDKMC Ready to Ride

I Don’t Know MC Ready to Ride Bash

Story & photos by Cowboy

As ‘Old Man Winter’ heads into hibernation, Mother Nature gets busy spinning her spring and summer colorful hues. As nature takes its course, the pleasant roar from motorcycles begins to fill the air and that can only mean one thing, riding season has arrived here on Long Island. And what better way to celebrate than with the cool folks from the I Don’t Know M.C. at their 2nd annual Ready to Ride Bash! With five tables full of food, a few picnic tables set up outside, and the clubs DJ cranking out rock’n music, this gathering was all set to go! Even though there was still quite a chill in the air, many brave souls, who were itching to get back in the saddle again, chose to ride in. As folks began to arrive, President, Mark, and event coordinator, Larry, were on hand to greet all. Club members directed traffic and helped with the flow of revelers eager to gather with friends, and start making plans for the 2017 riding season. This event was bitter-sweet as it also paid tribute to two I Don’t Know M.C. members who are riding with the angels & watching over their brothers and sisters of the road from above: James “Chopsticks” Moy and Robert “Junior” Verito. Both are sorely missed by all who knew them.  I would like to say thank you to Mark, Larry and all the members of the I Don’t Know M.C. for their hospitality. It was a pleasure to see many of my friends from the L.I. motorcycle community and start marking my own calendar with upcoming events. As the season begins again – ride safe ladies and gentlemen!
