Spreading a little Irish Cheer
Story & photos by Cowboy
When St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Friday, it turns into St. Patty’s Weekend. The Chosen Souls M.C. held their St. Patrick’s Day bash on Saturday, (the 18th) with the traditional Irish meal of Corned Beef & Cabbage, boiled potatoes, and a few loaves of Irish soda bread as well. For those of us celebrating St. Joseph’s Day (the 19th) the club had it covered with plenty of pasta, and sausage & peppers, which was all homemade and finger lickin’ good.
The Chosen Souls clubhouse was packed with supporters, family and friends who enjoyed the Rockin’ Country Sounds of Craig Rose (who by day is a Suffolk County Corrections Officer). Many guests cut a rug on the dance floor, which helped to digest some of that cabbage, if you know what I mean. To add to the St. Patty’s Day festivities, members of Chosen Souls called upon the bagpiping talents of Kevin McCarthy, who belongs to the NYPD Emerald Society Pipe Band, for entertaining the crowd with traditional Irish music, challenging Lads & Lass’ alike to do an Irish Jig. It really was a great way to celebrate and support. Thank you to President, Pete, and the members of the Chosen Souls M.C. for your hospitality and delicious holiday grub. Ride safe!
