Raising funds and awareness for Autism

On Saturday, May 6th Chosen Souls M.C. and 1Journey2Wheels (a not-for-profit 501(c) 3), hosted a motorcycle run to benefit autism. More than 100 riders from all around Long Island, and a few visiting Chosen Souls M.C. members from Michigan, gathered at the Chosen Souls M.C. clubhouse to show support for and help raise funds to benefit autism. The Big Sandbar Antique Motorcycle Club of Long Island, held their annual motorcycle and car gathering this year at one of my personal favorite locations on Long Island-The Bayport Aerodrome. Big Sandbar, is the L.I. Chapter of The Antique Motorcycle Club of America which present classic motorcycles from Harley Davidson, Indian, BMW and even a Royal Enfield. Also in attendance at this show were classic cars and trucks of all makes and models such as antique racers from the late 1920’s Vanderbilt Cup Races. (Continue Reading)

This well attended car show, which takes place at Suffolk Community College in Brentwood was once again a huge success. More than 200 custom and classic cars, trucks, and a few of my favorite, rat rods welcomed enthusiastic spectators. Like at most shows, I crossed paths with some friends that I haven’t seen since last season ended. Long Island ABATE’s Annual Veterans Appreciation Run to Montauk Raises $60,000!

Long Island ABATE held their annual Veterans Appreciation Run to Montauk on Sunday June 11th, 2017. Motorcyclists, members and supporters of Long Island ABATE came from all over to participate in this annual event.  A brief ceremony was held at the Riverhead Elks Lodge #2044, which included the Sea Cadets of Farmingdale, the Riverhead Color Guard and Meagan Schmid singing the National Anthem along with a morning prayer.  Suffolk County Legislator, Sarah Anker, joined in and presented Long Island ABATE with a proclamation.  Leading the ride as the Grand Marshal was television and film star Lorenzo Lamas.  Joining him was Ron Starrantino and The Harley Twins, as well as, Fingers from WBAB.
