Rolling Thunder Cycles Celebrates Their Customers and the Holidays

Story & photos by Tami Ellinport

What a great turn-out Rolling Thunder Cycles had for their Customer Appreciation/Holiday party, which owners Gerard Cerniglia and Tommy Nelson cannot believe just hit their 35th year.

It was a little brisk out for “rolling into thunder” on a motorcycle, but there were about 15 brave souls that weathered the 35 degrees and put on their warmest gear to ride in, while the rest of us arrived by cage with the heat on full blast. (Continue Reading)

The WBAB New Year’s Day Cold Finger Run 2017 was a huge success thanks to our wonderful Long Island motorcycle community. The job of assembling a motorcycle run is no easy task and is not done by one person; however, my team here at WBAB has worked feverishly on this run for the past 14 years. (Continue Reading)

Javits Convention Center NYC

Story and Photography by Bob Stegmaier

It was a well attended 3 day event and provided a great opportunity to see first-hand the many newly introduced factory bikes, custom bikes and many aftermarket accessories. During the December 9th – 11th  event, more than 58 thousand (38% first time attendees and 62 % returning attendees) riders and motorcycle enthusiasts from the Northeast states descended on the Javits Convention Center in NYC to see the nearly 200 exhibitors and a great stunt show. Many attendees made purchases while many stated that they are in the market to purchase a bike. Story by Lee Sheridan

This is immediately became my favorite event of the year. It takes G-Man and myself eight months of brainstorming and planning with our toy run committee, who I like to refer to as Operation Elves, to orchestrate this 2 day event. Each and every detail of this event from decorating and placing the donation boxes at over 25 toy drop locations, to delivering the thousands of toys that we collect and place under the massive Christmas tree in the lobby at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital is gone over with a fine tooth comb leaving no room for error. First, I would like to apologize for the rescheduling of this rain or shine event, but as many of you know, the rain was so severe that it would not have been safe for us to ride. I am happy to say that even though we could not commence with Rev-4-Dev on our original date, the turnout produced 80 plus bikes. (Continue Reading)

Kiwanis Club Car Show

Story & photos by Cowboy

On a hot Saturday in August, about 45 classic cars/trucks and about a dozen vendors filled the parking lot at Farmingdale Plaza to help the East Farmingdale Kiwanis Club raise funds for local student scholarships and community charities. As I made my way through rows of amazing vehicles, I bumped into friends that I have made through the many years of attending these shows, and took note to the fact that more and more familiar faces are popping up along the car show circuit. Much to my surprise, I actually came across a few awesome old trucks that I had never seen before. (Continue Reading)

Long Island Classic Car Shows at Lindenhurst F.D.

Story & photos by Cowboy

This year’s classic car show at the Lindenhurst F.D. was held in conjunction with L.I. Classic Car Shows, which meant that this show benefitted not only the Fire Department, but also Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Centers of Long Island. As I arrived at the show, there was a traffic jam of cool classic cars waiting for a space to be available. Once everyone filled a spot and settled in, the DJ started rockin’ the field as the crowd poured in to check out the dozens of classic and a few modern classics that were participating in this year’s show. With over 70 cars and trucks lining the track, and still more in the field alongside the track, there was plenty of fine machines for car enthusiasts to enjoy. (Continue Reading)
