WW II Armor

Article & photos by Cowboy

It was a clear Saturday afternoon when I entered the grounds of the Old Bethpage Village Restoration. It was as if I passed through a time warp. I approached the parking area and was greeted by a group of World War II Allied Soldiers, who were manning a check point. They asked me if I was the new photographer and then pointed me in the direction of the encampment at the bottom of the hill. As I entered the area various armored vehicles were being prepared for battle. An M4 Sherman Tank, M16 Quad Halftrack, M3A1 Scout Car with mounted machine gun, and various Troop Carriers were being prepped for an all-out assault on an enemy machine gun nest/bunker in the French countryside. Father’s Day at the Car Show

Story & photos by Cowboy

I was a little worried when I looked out my window on Father’s Day morning and saw a sea of fog, but by the time I arrived at Merrick Train Station for the Annual Car Show/Motorcycle run the weather was starting to clear. I arrived to a line of classic vehicles waiting to get this show on the road. This show, which benefits the Nassau County Sheriff’s Dept. Widows & Children Fund grows in numbers each year. While getting ready to start shooting, I heard a familiar rumble coming from Sunrise Highway, I looked up to see around 65 Motorcycles,(Led by members of the Forsaken Guns M.C.) rolling into the area set aside for motorcycles parking. This is dedicated to all involved in building the car I always wanted. I am who I am and I’m not sorry, but thank you for helping me to achieve my dream car. New York International Auto Show

Javitz Center April 14-23, 2017

Story by Alan DeFend

As part of an evaluation of SUVs recently, a major car magazine said the selection included “everybody’s everything.”  The same could be said of the cars, displays and awards at the 2017 New York International Auto Show in April – the oldest (Over 100 years running) and largest (Over 1 million visitors) auto show in the US.  Whether you were interested in mainline sedans, SUVs, trucks, specialty service providers, or vintage vehicles with a New York connection, you’d find them among the almost 1000 vehicles and the most spectacular displays of any auto show anywhere. I wanted a Murdered out Black Camaro! Clean lines, while adding artistic elements, riding that edge between the two. I happen to love lighting to the point of obsession some would say. I love playing with dramatic lighting in my photography and I also play around with positive & negative space in my sculptures and artwork. Put these elements together and we have the birth of a DARKSUN. A blacked out menacing vehicle that can light up the night totally suits me…classic and clean while still being creative. Flip on the “demon eyes” lights and it turns wicked!

1955 Chevy Gasser

Repeat Offender 1955 Chevy Gasser

I have owned this car for the past 20 years.  When I first acquired this gem, it was a street car, but my plan was to redesign it to be a gasser. Once I got under the hood and started the transformation process, I quickly realized that this Chevy had a passed life as a gasser. Now it was time to resurrect the old girl and pump 580 horse power into her heart. Besides the details listed in the spec sheet, we gave Offender an old school roll cage and her parachute is old school metal. (Continue Reading)
