When I called John, owner of II Eagles to do this interview, of course he was slamming busy with work, but made the time to tell me all about his experience and journey in auto body & collision repair.  John began turning wrenches in the backyard of his parent’s home when he was a young teenager. Repeat Offender 1955 Chevy Gasser

I have owned this car for the past 20 years.  When I first acquired this gem, it was a street car, but my plan was to redesign it to be a gasser. Once I got under the hood and started the transformation process, I quickly realized that this Chevy had a passed life as a gasser. Now it was time to resurrect the old girl and pump 580 horse power into her heart. Besides the details listed in the spec sheet, we gave Offender an old school roll cage and her parachute is old school metal. (Continue Reading)

Exotics Car Club 10th Annual Road Rally/Turkey Run & Scavenger Hunt
Story & photos by Cowboy
Early one Sunday morning in late fall, I came across this awesome array of cars while on my way to the L.I. Mopars event, which was held on November 27th, 2017. This Exotic Car Club event, which happened to be registering at one of FTM’s advertisers, Giovanni’s Toy Storage/Renu Powdercoating, benefitted The MAKE-A-WISH Foundation, a charity which is near and dear to my heart. Metro NY Porsche Club of America Snowflake Rally
Story & photos by Cowboy

On Sunday, January 29th, I attended this event for the first time ever. I arrived at the start site, the Hauppauge Palace Diner and was thrilled to see more than half the parking lot filled with Porsches of all types, along with other exotic style cars as well such as, BMW, Lexus, Mercedes and even a Maserati. Inside the diner, I met the members of this unique club and learned that this was an intricately planned, precision road rally, not a race. (Continue Reading)

Son of a Monster Mash

Story & photos by Cowboy

Every year as Halloween approaches, so does one of my favorite Long Island Car shows the awesome-“Son of Monster Mash” Car/Truck/Motorcycle Show at Bald Hill. This show always brings in vehicles that aren’t always out and about. The regulars bring out their best Halloween decorations to deck out their space. Patrons of the show arrive dressed in their costumes and even a few family pets get in the spirit of the show as well. With more than 150 Classic/Modern Classic/Custom Cars/Trucks & Motorcycles in attendance, this show was once again a total success! (Continue Reading)

Top 5 car warranty and maintenance considerations

Why car maintenance and warranty coverage is an important part of the car shopping process.

When you’re shopping for a new vehicle it’s just as important to compare car warranty and maintenance information as it is to compare price and monthly payment.  Car warranty coverage is measured in terms of time and total mileage driven during the period of vehicle eligibility, whereas free maintenance programs may or may not include more than an oil change or two during the first year of ownership. Kiwanis Club Car Show

0

Story & photos by Cowboy

On a hot Saturday in August, about 45 classic cars/trucks and about a dozen vendors filled the parking lot at Farmingdale Plaza to help the East Farmingdale Kiwanis Club raise funds for local student scholarships and community charities. As I made my way through rows of amazing vehicles, I bumped into friends that I have made through the many years of attending these shows, and took note to the fact that more and more familiar faces are popping up along the car show circuit. Much to my surprise, I actually came across a few awesome old trucks that I had never seen before. (Continue Reading)
