Frank was a member of the club and a worker at the H.S., who passed away from Kidney Cancer a few years ago. Top 5 car warranty and maintenance considerations

Why car maintenance and warranty coverage is an important part of the car shopping process.

When you’re shopping for a new vehicle it’s just as important to compare car warranty and maintenance information as it is to compare price and monthly payment.  Car warranty coverage is measured in terms of time and total mileage driven during the period of vehicle eligibility, whereas free maintenance programs may or may not include more than an oil change or two during the first year of ownership. Kiwanis Club Car Show

0

Story & photos by Cowboy

On a hot Saturday in August, about 45 classic cars/trucks and about a dozen vendors filled the parking lot at Farmingdale Plaza to help the East Farmingdale Kiwanis Club raise funds for local student scholarships and community charities. As I made my way through rows of amazing vehicles, I bumped into friends that I have made through the many years of attending these shows, and took note to the fact that more and more familiar faces are popping up along the car show circuit. Much to my surprise, I actually came across a few awesome old trucks that I had never seen before. (Continue Reading)

Long Island Classic Car Shows at Lindenhurst F.D.

Story & photos by Cowboy

This year’s classic car show at the Lindenhurst F.D. was held in conjunction with L.I. Classic Car Shows, which meant that this show benefitted not only the Fire Department, but also Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Centers of Long Island. As I arrived at the show, there was a traffic jam of cool classic cars waiting for a space to be available. Once everyone filled a spot and settled in, the DJ started rockin’ the field as the crowd poured in to check out the dozens of classic and a few modern classics that were participating in this year’s show. With over 70 cars and trucks lining the track, and still more in the field alongside the track, there was plenty of fine machines for car enthusiasts to enjoy. (Continue Reading)

This 1970 Dodge Super Bee is 1 of 599 because it is a Super Teak Pack Super Bee. The windows roll down with no post, which makes it a 2 door hard top. There probably aren’t many of these machines left, so I bet it is rarer than I think. (Continue Reading)

1956 Chevy

I purchased this car from Texas, which I found over the Internet. Most of the body panels were in pretty good shape. The car has gone through a 2 year restoration and as you can see by the photos, it was well worth the time and energy that it took to bring her back to life. The complete car including chassis, engine, wiring and body work was all done by me in my home garage. All the machine work was done by Scott at Merkel Racing Engines. Bud at Innovative Auto went to work on the two tone chemical skin, and when he was finished, the hands of time were turned back on this old girl. Warm thanks to my beautiful wife and kids for all their support, and special thanks to my dad for his knowledge and help whenever I need it. (Continue Reading)
