The band originally started as 2 piece acoustic act and when they split up, Ian decided to re-brand himself and take his music in another direction. Deciding to start a PosiCore band – (definition meaning music generally Hardcore with Positive lyrics hence the slang “PosiCore”), Ians songs are generally uplifting, and about inner strength. NONPOINT

Bio & Cover Photo provided by Nonpoint- Live Shots by Eric Tier

Nonpoint only becomes fiercer with each subsequent album. Their eighth full-length offering and second for Razor & Tie, The Return, is no exception either. After 18 years in the game, the Florida quintet sustains the same energy that sparked its foundation back in 1997. The riffs crack with neck-snapping intensity, the bass and drums forge an unmatched groove, and the vocals rapidly recount stories of pain and perseverance. (Continue Reading)

May 15th -17th– 3 days, 3 stages the 9th Annual Rock on the Range Music Festival at the Mapfre Stadium in Columbus Ohio, surpassed any rock event that I have ever attended.

Having had the opportunity to be surrounded by some of the Music Industries greats as well as upcoming talent, and to report on this was a nice surprise indeed – In spite of Mother Nature’s sporadic crying fits, it was an amazing weekend for all who attended.  (Continue Reading)

Tart, Tangy, Smooth, and oh so lip-smacking Sweet! Aaah yes, time to praise the almighty summer sippin’ thirst quencher, being served straight up G. Love and Special Sauce style, ice cool and always refreshing. Releasing records containing soul drenched tracks pouring out their blues infused hip-hop, which people have been trying to label for years. The best advice – don’t try to tame it or claim it; it’s simply their sonic trademark, instantly recognizable and addictively delicious. (Continue Reading)

p047-wWe here at FTM were shocked and devastated to hear about the passing of AJ Pero. AJ was a friend to both G-Man and I. A short time ago, when AJ could find a few spare moments, we featured a monthly column written by him that targeted helping our young people to get through growing pains, peer pressure and especially teenage bullying. AJ created the column to help our youths realize their dreams and believe in themselves when others didn’t. The column was inspirational and written directly from the heart of a person who shared his own struggles and how he learned from life’s cheap shots.   (Continue Reading)

St. Valentine’s Day Massacre at The Paramount NY

The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre show at the Paramount NY on a Friday the 13th in February was indeed an interesting one.  The intro music was the theme music from “Friday the 13th –Which led to the opening song of Halloween, followed by Hybrid Moments and Horror business. Seeing the generations of “fiends” in the audience interactions with the music and moshing including the youngest who couldn’t have been more than 10 years old, (and who Jerry Only pointed out during the show.) to the oldest probably being me… it was indeed a VERY reactive show.  (Continue Reading)

Story & Live performance photos by Momma Dukes

November 7th Jefferson Starship played at the Paramount NY in Huntington.  This bands history as most know started as Jefferson Airplane. PAUL KANTNER, along with MARTY BALIN founded JEFFERSON AIRPLANE in 1965. THE AIRPLANE were the biggest rock group in America during the 1960s and the first San Francisco band to sign a major record deal, paving the way for other legends like GRATEFUL DEAD & JANIS JOPLIN. They headlined the original WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL in 1969 and like THE BEATLES with whom they are critically compared, lasted a mere 7 years … though their influence and impact on rock music continues well into the 21st century. Anders Osborne at Great South Bay Music Festival

0

Anders Osborne as Featured in Full Throttle Magazine-Cover shot by marcmillmanphotosFor the Swedish-born Osborne, the blues wound up enchanting him at an early age. After hitchhiking around the country at just 16-years-old, Osborne landed in New Orleans, where he would play in local clubs acquiring a real knack for the music along with a following of fans. On Sunday, July 21st Osborne performed at the Blue Point Brews stage to his many fans, playing material from his latest album, last year’s “Peace”.

This was a first for me hearing Anders Osborne.  I have to be honest, I never heard of him.  But I will tell you that I now will never forget him. His performance entrenched my soul. I didn’t just hear him play, I felt it.  Even though I wasn’t familiar with his music it already felt like it was a part of me. His next New York appearance will be at the Brooklyn Bowl in December, and I plan on being there, and so should you. (Continue Reading)
