Cars & Guitars Hope for the Warriors

Story & photos by Cowboy

On a clear, warm spring Saturday, classic cars, trucks and motorcycles caused a traffic jam in Commack as they made their way to Miller’s Ale House for the 2017 Cars & Guitars Car Show. This annual event benefits the Hope for the Warriors organization, which is orchestrated by my Friend, Dean Nichol, President of East to West Classic Cars.

With each new year the amount of show cars as well as spectators keeps on growing. More than 125 cars trucks & bikes filled the designated parking area and started filling a secondary area. Music was provided by DeeJay Nap & Pete Mazzeo & the Hit Squad. As the tunes kept everyone groovin’ to the beat, enthusiasts ohhed and ahhed while walking amongst automobiles most could only dream of owning. Raffle prizes were plentiful and helped to raise thousands of dollars to help our local Veteran’s and their families through the Hope for the Warriors group. It’s always nice to reconnect with folks that I only get to see at the shows, which is exactly what I did from the moment I arrived.

Thank you Dean for putting on another great event and Miller’s Ale House for providing the space and tasty food specials. Appreciation goes out to Pete and his talented musicians for donating their time. Thank you to Michael Wern and Hope for the Warriors for all that you do for our Veterans. Finally, thank you to all those who came out to support this awesome event.

Drive safe folks!
