It was late spring, just 11 days shy of the first day of summer when the Back in Time Cruisers LI Car Club held one of their many annual fundraisers. The money raised from this particular event was to benefit the Islip Town Firefighter Museum & Education Center.

Back in Time Cruisers LI Car Club Inc. is a New York domestic Not-For-Profit corporation that was established in 2000. The purpose of this car club is to bring together auto enthusiasts, whose passion is focused on the auto gems of yester-year. Through their love for these early model beauties, the members of Back in Time Cruisers are able to help support many worthy causes with monetary donations and by bringing awareness to the cause.

The weather on June 10th was perfect. The sun glistened on the fine paint and chrome of the show cars, like fine jewels displayed in brightly lit glass cases. Long Island dee-jays, Fonzie & Chachi from Night Train, spun tunes from the 60’s through the 80’s enhancing an era that so many of us embrace. Over 35 trophies were presented to car owners honoring an array of categories. Food vendors were on site, but the best foods of all were the desserts, which included zeppoles and friend oreo’s.

Till next season, drive safe and share the roads respectably.
